Introduction to Bachata: audio description

 11 September 2024

We are delighted to introduce our first instructional video, specially developed for everyone who wants to help people with visual impairments dance.
This video is intended for specialized organizations for people with visual disabilities, physical education students, occupational therapists, dance instructors, and dancers to get started themselves.

The creation of this video was made possible thanks to the support of the King Baudouin Foundation and the request of various parties, including Oogatelier, our own and external dance teachers, and the people with visual impairments themselves (our dancers) and their sighted friends.

A special thanks goes to Madina Ngirimana, one of our students who has been dancing bachata with us in Brussels for 2 years.
Madina, blind since birth, fully dedicates herself to improving her mobility while enjoying herself in our group. We are deeply grateful for her commitment to dance.

Our thanks also go to our other dancers in this video, Nadine and Manuel (blind due to retinitis pigmentosa) and Anna Paula (visually impaired).
Their participation and dedication helped make this video possible.
