Internship Selena Princen "Sport Sciences UGent"
During the academic year 2021 – 2022, Selena Princen was our first intern as part of the "dancing with a visual impairment" program. She worked for a year with the organization of vzw Etage Tropical. Attention was given to the general operation of the Ghent sports club, introduction to the different dance styles, and participation in both inclusive and exclusive lessons, including the exclusive lessons for the G-salsa girls, for girls with intellectual disabilities, and the exclusive program for people with intellectual disabilities in Brussels. Selena completed her internship with one defined goal: "bachata workshops for youth with a visual impairment." As part of this, the club organized several bachata workshops in Brussels, Ghent, and Ostend. Selena created a first SoundCloud profile for the club, where promotion for future events for the blind and visually impaired is communicated audibly.
