Hey dancers!
A personal message from me.
On Saturday, February 4, the long-awaited program “The Greatest Dancer” will premiere on VRT. We are excited to share the news that we participated in the show. Manuel and I were selected to audition. After countless hours of training and dressed in our finest outfits, we gave it our all. We managed to deliver our routine flawlessly. Social dancing is one thing, but performing a choreography where every angle and degree must align perfectly for the camera is another. If you’re blind, it’s an even greater challenge—one that we successfully tackled.
I’m proud of Manuel’s performance. He will be the first blind contestant in Flanders to participate in a dance program of this scale designed for sighted dancers. For us, this is just the beginning. Together, we carry the message “dance is for everyone.” That’s why we are thrilled to announce that we’ve officially welcomed Manuel to our Etage Tropical team, where he will primarily support our new blind and visually impaired dancers.
Enjoy this beautiful program, everyone. Let’s get the whole world dancing!
Video in 3 parts.
1. Michèle and Manuel are dancing in the grand hall of Etage Tropical in their show costumes. Manuel wears a tuxedo with a bow tie in the same bright blue as Michèle’s dress. In the background, you can see a black DJ booth, a black wall, and a large painting in black and white featuring a zebra. The video is framed in blue, matching the color of the dress and bow tie.
2. Close-up of Michèle holding Manuel’s face in her hands against a candy-pink background.
3. Split-screen with the judges of TGD on either side, including Niels De Stadsbaeder, who is dancing. The screen has a light orange tint.
