A vibrant weekend full of dance, connection & experience. Feel the rhythm. Share the passion. Discover the power of inclusion. After three spectacular editions, DanceOrientation is growing into a full-fledged dance festival weekend in the heart of Ghent, at the atmospheric Etage Tropical. Expect three days of workshops, performances, parties and above all: a unique experience where everyone is welcome – sighted or not.
For whom?
For everyone who loves to dance – beginner or advanced, young or old, sighted, partially sighted or blind. Professionals, students, trainers and curious passers-by will also find their place here.
What to expect?
From Cuban Salsa to Bachata and Kizomba, from sensory dance to audio-guided workshops – DanceOrientation is more than just dance. It’s an experience. During the day you’ll learn, discover and connect through dance. In the evening, let yourself go on the dancefloor with shows, socials and live acts.

Friday, November 21 – Theme Day: Dance & Visual Impairment
Morning: exclusive dance workshops for blind organizations.
Afternoon: Inspirational Afternoon: Inclusion in Motion – Dance as a Tool for Accessible Leisure Practices
An inspiring and experiential afternoon where we use dance as a powerful tool to explore how we can truly make sports and leisure inclusive.
We not only focus on dancing with people with disabilities, but broaden towards other leisure activities: relaxing, experiencing and connecting without barriers. Through dance as a universal language, we discover how movement contributes to a warmer, more accessible society – both on and off the dancefloor.
This session is aimed at caregivers, students, care professionals, organizations and anyone eager to learn how to make space for inclusion in sports, culture and leisure.

10:00 – Workshops for all levels (various styles)
12:00 – Lunch + inspiring talks
14:00 – Sensory dance & alternative dance forms

Inclusion in motion
- Open to everyone: including people with visual impairments, autism spectrum disorders, mental health challenges, etc.
- Collaboration with colleges & universities: students can also participate within internships or training programs.
- Dance as a sensory experience: through sound, touch, breathing and rhythm.
